Just in case you cant live without.

Just in case you cant live without.

No need to feel homesick

one issue some people have with world travel more so when they are rookies to the whole “ seeing the world thing” is the loss of familiar and comfortable places they have grown all too accustomed to seeing. Not every person is adventurous enough to wonder into a local establishment, terrified of sticking out like a sore thumb, unable to read menus most likely not in their native tongue...

Fear not however. Egypt is one place most can find a familiar haunt to make things slightly easier on their culture shocked psyche. Hurting for your morning fix? Egypt, like all nations with heavy Islamic ties is a treasure trove of coffee establishments. Most westerners are utterly unaware of the importance of coffee in the Arab world dating back thousands of years before finding its way to Europe fairly recently. That means “ finding coffee” will be a breeze. However as stated before- some people just don't have that ability to venture into the unknown all the time. Fear not, you can still get your vinte amricano as always as Cairo has more than a few Starbucks locations !

Coffee aside other iconic western establishments can be found to ease ones longing for the familiar. KFC, Pizza Hutt- and many many more. I admit I personally find it slightly silly to go to another place on Earth with it's own flare, then go order a new yorker because ordering kofta and firakh seems a little too adventurous – it is still important to show that there is something for everyone.
