November 11, 2011 was a very unique day that many people in different places looked forward to for different reasons.  Dates like these have significance to religious sects and other groups of people.  There were even rumors all over the world that there were going to be special ceremonies and rituals held on this day.

It was these ritualistic rumors that were the cause of the largest of the Pyramids of Giza being closed on 11.11.11.  There were talks that the ceremonies were supposedly to be held at 11:11 am to coincide with the peculiar date pattern.

The director of the national antiquities authority, Mustafa Amin, reported that the Khufu pyramid, the largest of the group, would be closed to all visitors until Saturday, the following day.  The reason that he cited for the closure was necessary maintenance.  The reports were unconfirmed at best but did state that there were to be spiritual ceremonies that were going to be held because there were supposed to be mysterious powers emitted from the pyramid at that date and time.

There were reports like this all over the world.  However, after 11:11 am had passed, the complex director, Ali al-Asfar, reported that he had not seen anything extraordinary happen.  There have not been any recent news reports that proved that there indeed was something unique about this date except for the pattern of numbers.

It is almost predictable that there will be reports when the numbers all the right way because of the popularity of numerology and just the fact that everyone claims to be a prophet.  Will 12.12.12 be any different?  What do you think?
